Robin's Response to my article "Authority to Stalk the World." See Letters to Editor

I guess you would have us just sit on our asses and let terrorists run around killing whom ever might offend them this week or that. You should quit reading ancient documents and join this world at this time. I have never been more proud of my commander in chief. I am a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and I would follow the orders of this President no matter what! They don't call the President commander in chief for nothing, I don't know who told you he doesn't command our armed forces at all times but they were much mistaken. The U.S.M.C. is called the president's own because they serve that office first and foremost! So you might want to think about that. We are not trying to tell Afghanistan to disrobe their women. We are telling them you are supporting and harboring a terrorist organization and we will not be idle and (in their eyes) weak. This is the basic concept that you and other pacifists fail to recognize. These groups are trying to exterminate us(U.S.). It has nothing to do with Israel or Arabs it has everything to do with our greatness as a nation and a people. We offer hope to those they would suppress simply by being. VERY SINCERELY,
Robin

Ron's Reply to Robin's Response:

Dear Robin,
I am just as upset about all of this as you are, or as anyone else is. But I cannot let this event on 9/11 alter what I have known for a long time about the fundamentals of civil government. The laws of liberty do not change with time nor with technology or with terrorism or with despotism or with corruption or with tyranny. All of these "isms" are a form of tyranny and the ingredient that makes them so is the exercise of power that the particular form of tyrant does not have.

Now, you think I should stop reading ancient books and join the present world. It is the leaving of ancient books that has fertilized the fields of humanity for tragedy. Would you have me leave off reading the Bible? Is that all outdated trash? What makes it so profoundly accurate today? Is it not truth? The same goes for the profound insight into the fundamentals of civil government that the Christian philosopher, John Locke, wrote 100 years before the u.s. Constitution. He was the most quoted author of the forefather's that framed the current, Constitution. It is the leaving of these eternal principles, now virtually unknown, that allows the gross violation of the laws of this land by our elected servants. On the sacred word of God, I lie not to you, that any President of the United States is not and never has been the "Commander-in-Chief" of the military until there is a formal declaration of war by Congress (Art.II Sect.2, U.S. Constitution):

"The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States"

And further, Art.I Sect. 8, U.S. Constitution:

"The Congress shall have Power to declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water; To raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years;"

Not only is the President not the Commander in Chief until Congress declares War, a standing federal Army in America is illegal! I lie not! Someone else has lied to you. I have read all of the federalist letters and anti-federalists letters and can prove beyond doubt that a standing federal army in America is illegal. Our forefathers viewed the power of one man to command troops and raise them as a monarchial power, which they hated with a passion.

Your labeling of me as a pacifist is incorrect. I am an adherent to the law of the land. Those that usurp power from others are criminials no matter how great a cause they serve. Usurpation and tyranny are, in and of themselves, great evils in this world and have cause most of the human suffering throughout history. Hitler was a violator of the laws of Germany. Santa Anna was a violator of the Mexican Constitution of 1824. The flag over the Alamo was the Mexican Flag with the Eagle painted out with the year 1824 painted into it.

My point about the women and children of Afghanistan is that the U.S. does not have a right or authority to alter them in any way, good or bad. We certainly do not have authority to enter a nation and hunt certain individuals without a declaration of war. War is legal between nations. Entering sovereign nations to round up people, to try then and punish or execute them is not! We cannot fight tyranny in terrorism by allowing our President to become a tyrant!

It is obvious beyond question that we have established an alliance with Israel that has caused great jealousy, indignation and turmoil in the Middle East between Arabs and Jews. Our forefathers from the beginning warned against these long lasting alliances because they knew the kind of intrigues that grew from these alliances in Europe. We are reaping the harvest of slavery to these alliances.

Your friend in the law of the land,
Ron

Robin's Response to my Reply to Robin's Response:

Ron,
I can not imagine what it must be like for you to live in a country that you obviously and openly despise. You say the same things I say but you twist the intent to suit your need to persecute whatever person or government you hate at the time. I'm positive that if I wanted to, or didn't have anything else to do, I could read every paper ever written and pull out only the lines that I could use for my purposes. I have so much more to do than that. So for the sake of my memories of a wonderful vacation I feel it is fitting to end our correspondence at this time. I believe however that we do agree that our country and our government are in need of all our prayers. I believe that everything happens for a reason and If we put the things we cannot control (and I find the more I try to control the more control is taken from me) in Gods hands He will do what is right for all concerned. I am convinced that God is hard at work in these times as well. how else could so much good come from so much evil? We will keep you and yours in our prayers.
Robin

Ron's Reply to Robin's Response:

Dear Robin,
If it makes you more secure in your mind to call me a hater of men OK. I am sorry I could not write the entire Constitution but I thought you might have a copy laying around somewhere in your patriotic gear. It is interesting that you have not quoted one line of anything from anywhere to me. I hope it will continue to be easy to dismiss what is to come as it is to dismiss me. I do thank you for praying for me though. I will indeed pray for you as well.
Sincerely,
Till that next river boat ride.

Ron
