Dear Editor,

I just got through reading some “Bain’s Bits.” He asked the question, “..why is it too much to ask Americans to lose their hyphens, to embrace Western civilization and refuse to deny its superiority? He then asks another question, “And if it’s true that killing Jews and Christians is not an essential part of their religion, why is it too much to ask, as does Rev. Franklin Graham, that American Muslims publicly condemn the violence of Hamas, Hezbolah, Saddam and even Saudi Arabia. (For that matter, why can’t our own State Department frankly and astutely recognize the enemy?)”

Mr. Bain suffers from the same problem that many Christians have today that gives rise to the very situation they complain of. They have confused the deceptive political term “Judao-Christian” for “Western Civilization.” Western Civilization is not Judaic but Christian alone. The spread of Western ideas is the spread of Christian ideas not Jewish ideas. The Jewish people tagged along a little bit but they were not the movers and shakers and makers of Western Civilization. The West started with Christ Jesus and then through St. Paul to many millions of people. Western Civilization is the spread of Christianity and its impact on our understanding of the relationship we now have through Christ to God and to one another and then how governmental authority is derived.

Since the advent of Christ, Jews have not been leaders in the development of the fundamentals of liberty and principles of civil government and laws of nations. Certainly the Jews have been involved in the finances of wars and the purchases of governments, but their influence has been restricted mainly to the power of their monopoly on money, not ideas of liberty. There is a good reason for this. The ideas that Western Christianity developed concerning the laws of liberty and nations were derived from the very result of what Christ Jesus did to the human race. The Jews that denied this act and rejected Christ as the savior of the world and creator of the Kingdom of Heaven on earth do not perceive the fundamentals derived thereby. They cannot perceive why all men really are equal.

Therefore the only reason that “terrorism” has come to exist in America, i.e., the World Trade Center event etc, is that Western Civilization has entered into a permanent alliance with a part of Middle Eastern Civilization, i.e., the modern “state of Israel.” The world is now in a state of imbalance because the united States of America has taken sides with one of the characters in the old Middle Eastern Civilization. If we, the united States, had remained purely Western, or Christian, the Middle East would be balanced. The modern “state of Israel,” if it would exist at all, would be more accommodating of others and truly democratic.

When Christians get into moaning and groaning about all this “radical Muslim” stuff and “terrorism” and their unquenchable desire to kill Saddam Hussein, I like to ask them what part does day time have with night time? What part of the West is the East? What part of black is white?  “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?” (IICor6:14-14.) And who is the unbelieving infidel? “And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matt8:11-12) And who are the children of the kingdom? They are none other than the Christ rejecting Jew.

Bain continues his attempt to connect the modern Jew with the Christian West by stating that the Rev. Franklin Graham, son of the infamous evangelist Billy Graham, is opposed to the Muslim religion yet accepting of the Jewish religion. Franklin is a little slow to figure out who his friends are. His father was just embarrassed by Cal Thomas not more than six months ago for having a confidential discussion with President Nixon in the oval office about how the Jews were destroying the country.

The Washington Times (8/12-18/2002) reported Franklin Graham saying that Islam does not share the same Christian God as do the Jews and the Christians. And at the same time in the same article it is reported that President Bush was sued for the prayer delivered by Franklin in the name of Jesus Christ at the 2001 inauguration. The article continued that a Michael Newdow, brought the suit and had also won another suit he brought against the Pledge of Allegiance from the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. Franklin was quoted as saying that the “[Harvard law professor] Alan Dershowitz said that I alienated millions by praying in the name of Jesus Christ,” Would you like to hazard a guess at what the religious persuasion Mr. Dershowitz is? You might want to speculate on the religious upbringing of Michael Newdow as well.

Peace in the Middle East and through out the world will not come as long as the West denies its singular and unique heritage based upon Christ alone and what he did to the world. Are we saved by Moses are by one who is greater than Moses? The solution to “terrorism” is not for the united States of America to bomb everyone in the world that does not agree with Israel but to clean up our own yard and get back the law of our land in the uS Constitution.

            Sincerely,

            Ronald F. Avery
